Make October Exciting With These Spooky Halloween Crafts

Halloween is one of our favorites! Something about dressing up as something other than yourself for a day makes things so much fun. We love using our imaginations while we brainstorm our costumes. When we aren’t thinking about how to dress come October 31st, we are doing one of many Halloween crafts available in my shop. You can check out the full Halloween Crafts Bundle HERE.

We Witch You A Happy Halloween!

Check out these adorably handsome, green witches! It’s the perfect craft to pair with a story like Room on the Broom by Julia Donald! Each child can make their own witch to be displayed under a We Witch You A Happy Halloween bulletin board.

This Class is Fang-Tastic!

Show off your amazing students with these vampire crafts! Don’t worry…they won’t bite! We read I Love My Fangs by Kelly Leigh Miller, it’s a sweet story about teeth! We like it because it isn’t scary.

Creepy Spider Craft

I have a long list of spider stories I like to read, but one of the kids’ favorites every year is How Spider Saved Halloween by Robert Kraus! The spider craft is a great activity to complete during October or any time you are studying spiders. You can hang the spiders up with a web and the saying “Get Caught in a Good Book” or “Get Caught Having Fun in ______”.

Pumpkin Kids Craft

Almost every child dresses as a pumpkin at some point in their lives. This is a sweet craft to do right before Halloween because it makes a lovely display either in the classroom or at home on a refrigerator! Parents love receiving this sort of craft.

Jack-O-Lantern Activity

If you can’t carve a real pumpkin, create a paper one instead! The instructions for this craft activity are super simple and fun to complete! The step-by-step directions let kids work independently on their Halloween craft.

A Spooktacular Class!

There’s no way you’ll be afraid of these cute ghosts! I like to have the kids create these crafts and then display them on a bulletin board that says “Spooktacular Second Graders” or “Kindergarten is Spooktacular”! Sometimes we watch Casper the Friendly Ghost or we read a story like How To Scare A Ghost by Jean Reagan.

Frankly…

Frankenstein is an interesting character, but a fun one! You can pair this craft with a “Frankly, Kindergarten is great!” bulletin board or something similar. We like to read Crankenstein by Samantha Berger and Dan Santat. It’s a great story about managing our emotions when things don’t go our way, but it’s perfect for Halloween!

Candy Corn Experimenting

Candy Corn is a hit or a miss. Some people love it and some people don’t! See if you students enjoy it by having a taste test and voting! You can display this craft with their results for everyone to see. Similarly, you can see what happens to candy corn in different liquids such as hot water, cold water, vinegar, salt water and even vegetable oil.

Black Cat Craft

The black cat craft is a great addition to your Halloween Bulletin board! You can use it to display October Birthdays or just to welcome Halloween with a “Happy Halloween!” The craft is simple to complete and can be colored independently by your students.

Halloween Bats

“We’re a Spooky Batch” or “Pre-K is Batty Over Halloween” make fun bulletin board ideas for you this October! You can read Bats by Gail Gibbons to teach students about bats. The book shows students where bats live, what they eat and how they fly!

If you like these Halloween Crafts, you’ll love the BIG Halloween Crafts Bundle. It’s complete with 19 Halloween crafts including the ones mentioned above. On top of those 10, you’ll get Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein, Witch & Cauldron, Mummies, more Bats and Ghosts, Halloween Owl, Skeletons, Werewolves, and Love Monsters.

Happy Halloween!
